Recently, I had the honor of photographing Silvia, a radiant friend who is eagerly awaiting the arrival of her little girl, Flavia. As always, when it comes to photographing people I know, I realized that this session would be different.

The Art of Listening

My first step was to listen to Silvia. I wanted to understand what this moment meant for her, what emotions she wanted to experience, and together with her partner Walter, we decided that the photographs would be taken in two moments.

Creating an Atmosphere of Trust

For me, it was essential that Silvia felt at ease during the shoot. A familiar place, somewhere she could relax and let her emotions flow. So, the first part took place in their home, as they dearly wanted to have maternity photos with their kittens. The second part took place in my Gourmet Studio in Giarre where, thanks to the skillful use of my equipment and a lot of empathy, I captured photos that portrayed her as strong and proud of being a mother-to-be.
